Where to find the history of Imports and Exports

Hi Friends,

I am new to the KM area. I would like to get your help regarding the transports of KM content and configuration objects.

Currently for the configuration objects, i am using the export and import functionality from the menu item. I would like to see the history of imports and exports i did maybe after a month. I also like to see the contents which i have transported in Export and Import.

Could you kindly help me with some suggestions.

Thanks,

SK

Hello SK,

Please check in the below folders at OS level.

/sapmnt/<SID>/global/config/cm/expimp ( Import and Export folder ) and /sapmnt/<SID>/global/config/cm/configarchives.

sapmnt mount would be normally under usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global...

Vinod.

Hi Vinod,

Thanks for your reply.

But will it be possible to see it in the interface some how?

Could you also tell me what the Archive Imports and Exports does?

Thanks,

Hello,

You can create a file system repository out of the above file system path and this folder will appear in Portal KM. Configarchive folder contains the archive of all configurations.

Hi Vinod,

There are already lot of repositories. And i am also thinking in the direction of CTS+.I will also put for the consideration.

But it would be great if i could find a simple way to proceed in this area.

Thanks,

Hello SK,

We also use CTS+ for KM transports, I do not think there is any other option to retrieve the files that going at OS level or creating a file system repository to the location.

If you just want to know the transport request details, like name of the package, then you can go to the CTS request generator interface.

Also check whether this might help : System Administration --> Monitoring -->( Knowledge Management ) Deployment Monitor --> Config Archives.

Hi Vinod,

Thanks for that...that was a helpful answer. from the importing perspective this is ok... is there a similar way for exporting type also. And also mainly is there a possibility to see the configuration objects which are part of this each request?

Thanks,

Senthilkumar

Hi All,

I found some answers close to my need. Here is the following,

Go to System Administration - Monitoring - KM -Deployment Archives - Upgrades - Configurations Upgrades

there you can see the list of the config archive files imported. And you can also see the contents. Its not a straight forward one.

still..

Select the file - Show Content - Scroll through the log information. You can find list of objects modified, deleted and added newly. after line ' clearing the local configuration cache'.

this is the closest i could find. I will try to make it bit user friendly.

Regards,

SK

Hi,

You can get the history of KM related transport at content administration -> KM Content -> Export -> archived export and the imports at content administration -> KM Content -> Import -> archived Imports.

To view the content in these packages just download them and open.

Hope this will help you.

Hi Vishal,

Thanks for that. This will work only in the case of KM Content. I am looking for the Configuration part.

Any idea or suggestions for configurations?

thanks,
