Drop Down List functionailty changes with EHP4 / NW EP1

Since applying ERP Enhancement Pack 4 and NW EP1 we are having a number of issues with the rendering of our Web Dynpro ABAP Applications. The main problem that users are complaining about is the drop down functionality. Previously users could tab into a drop down list and start typing and the list would display starting at the letter they had first typed in. This no longer happens. You have to have either mouse clicked into the field and then start typing or you can tab and press f4 and then start typing. The users are finding this very annoying. Does anyone know how this can be fixed or do we just have to live with it now??

It is similar to the thread you mentioned. However, that thread does not give me an answer. My issue is slightly different so none of the suggestions in the thread work for me. Unless anyone knows a patch that will fix my particular problem??

I searched for the note that Thomas suggested and found note 1467003 - Corrections for unified rendering up to SAP_BASIS 701/6 XIII. However, it wasn't realeased for download. So our basis team had to apply each note seperately. Here are the notes they applied:

Unfortunately these notes did not fix our problem with the drop downs and it still remains. Unless there is another patch, I am probably going to have to raise an OSS note with SAP or wait until Enhancement Pack 2!

SAP have created a note for me to fix this problem and it works excellently now. If you are having the same issues apply note 1492193.

I tried to recreate what you described and I couldn't in my system. In my 7.02 SP4 system I can tab into a DDLB and type a letter and the Drop Down starts with that selection or directly inputs the value if there was only one match that starts with that letter.

This means that the rendering is likely fixed in a later patch or support package for your release as well.

Of course you can enter a support ticket and support can hopefully tell you what you need to get this feature back. You might also search for rendering notes. Search in component BC-WD-ABA. Look for notes with a short text of Corrections for unified rendering up to SAP_BASIS 701/XX YY. XX being your Support Package level and YY being a roman numeral. There are mutliple patches per Support Package. Grab the latest roman numeral and SAPNote will download all the previous dependent notes.

These notes will completely replace the unified rendering (and all mimes) with a newer version. Rendering bugs in the HTML/JavaScript don't generally get separate notes, but instead get fixed in bulk by these notes. You won't necessarily find a detailed description of what items are fixed by each note.
