Billing with Register Relationship

Former Member

Hi All,

I have 2 devices with serial switching register relationship with one as primary and other as secondary. The secondary meter is installed (billing-relevant) with both Primary and Secondary installation whereas the primary meter is installed (billing-relevant) only with Primary installation.

Meter readings are entered for both the devices. For. eg. 150 Kwh for the Primary register and 100 Kwh for the secondary register.

When Billing is executed for the secondary installation, amount for 100 kwh is calculated and billed.

When Billing for Primary installation is executed, system calcuates for entire 150 kwh instead of calculating just remaining 50 kwh due to register relationship.

Can anyone explain me why system calculates for the entire 150 kwh in the above example ?

Thank & Regards,

Sathya.

Dear Sathya,

When you are doing the billing related installation of the secondary meter in the primary installation, keep the tick mark on in the filed not relevant to billing. Then only the primary installation would bill for the difference.

If you dont keep the tick mark on, what happens is initially the primary instllation bills for the difference , but again since you have installed two meters in the same installation it sums-up the secondary meter consumption again, which is way you find that the primary installation is being valuated for the whole 150 kWh.

So do the billing related installation of the seconday meter in the primary installation and keep the tick mark on in the field not releavant to billing, then you fill find that the primary installatioan would valute only for the difference.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

If you are using Installation grouping in that case you do not have to define serial switching relationship

between primary and secondary register.

In case of Installation grouping ,billing relevant installation for Primary device is done at primary

installation and secondary device is installated at secondary installation.

Please remove serail switching relationship and retest the issue...

I hope this helps.

Hello Olivia,

Thank you for the reply.

I am NOT using Installation grouping between primary and secondary installation.
