I've developed in SAP for quite a few years but am new to the QM module.

I'm trying to determine how table QASH get's updated.

See attached.

I had a follow-up question from the user:

"For SPC charts is there an option to auto complete the chart after activating it in table QASH and then a new record is created in QASH when you inspect the characteristics again?"

Thanks

Hello Len

It's very difficult to know all the possible transactions or business processes that will update a standard SAP table, since system is very complex.

What I can tell you, based on my previous experience with SPC charts, is that a new record is created in this table whenever an SPC chart is created.

Just to give you an example, when an inspection result is posted for the first time for a characteristic that is SPC relevant, a new record is created in this table and the SPC chart will have status 1 - New. Once you process this record in QGC3 and activate it, status will be updated to 3 in table QASH. Subsequent inspections won't generate new records in QASH, until you close this SPC chart.

After closing the SPC chart, a new record is created in QASH when you inspect the characteristics again.

Caetano

I won't even pretend to know this area very well at all.

But do keep in mind that control charts can depend on multiple things.

So some control charts can span multiple inspection lots. Some are only relevant to a single inspection lot.

A lot of the routines I've found, especially for on screen reports and values, are done in RT. I.e. the values are not in a database but are calculated when the screen is displayed or the report is run.

Also, a new inspection lot might not be referenced until the UD or inspection points are valuated and the lot has the UD done. It might be simply referencing the last valid data point. I don't know for sure.

Outside of those warnings, I can't give you much more in the way of details.

I hope this helps you in some way...

Craig
