Setting up of Bill of Materials at SD

Hello,

My company requires me to implement SAP to one of our subsidiary. The challenge is that the new set up will require to set up the SD Bill of Material. We dont use the SD BOM before and we dont have PP module (MM,SD,FICO only)

Now, am clueless where to start in SD to accomplish this requirement and important item that we need to consider.
