QM Master Data Questions

Hi All,

Well i want ask few question related to QM Master Data.

1) Is it possible to have more then 1 inspection type of a material? (For e.g: 01 for GR against vendor for material "A" and also having 03 inprocess inspection of the same material "A")

2) I want to run this process and for that can anyone mentioned what master data settings i have to do.

"If material is exempted from quality inspection or the vendor is a certified vendor, then system will post the material directly to the unrestricted area/stock and two documents will be generated against the goods receipt"

Like the above scenario is it possible to run a similar scenario where vendor not certified and still QI can be done for the material having Quality Info Record.

Awaiting for meaningful replies.

Regards

Rizwan

Hi ,

Yes,You can have different inspection types for a single material.Maintain different inspection types in material master.

You need to maintain master data for all inspection type( inspection plan etc).

Yes, for materials with quality info record you can maintain inspection even if vendor is not certified, check Q info record transaction qi01.

Cheers,

Tushar

In genral we are using 01 inspection type in rawmaterials and 03 inspection semifinished if u want inspect the gr level and line inspection level u should enter in material master related inspection type and configure task list assign the material type

if vendor is certified the system should post direct post in unrestricted u have to maintain inforecord

A material can have numbe rof inspection types like 01, 03, 04 etc, it depends on the requirements of inspection.

second question, surely inspection lot genration cn be controlled using Q Info Record for various vendor.

Inspection active, if vendor is certified.

If one vendor is certified, then no inspection lot generated.

If vendor not certified, inspection lot generated.

Setting completes only if you assign right Existing QM system for vendors.

Hope this clears you doubts.

Hello

So you mean i should used Inpection certificates. Can you please explains the steps and setting required in master data to run my process, where if vendor is certified, there would be no inspection lot created and if vendor is not certified the inspection lot is created.
