Hyperlink with Bex Variables

Hi,

I try to create a hyperlink between 2 webis. It works fine if the prompt of the target webi have been created in the webi query panel. but if the target webi query contains Bex variables (define in query designer), then I receive an error message (WIS 10901).

I read some posts on the forum on this subject but never found the solution. I tried to send the key, to use the function URLEncode... but nothing worked!

Any idea would be much appreciated.

Gabriel

HI,

you need to ensure that when linking to the second report all mandatory variables are filled and you need to ensure that you are sending the actual key values and not the descriptions.

Hi,

I got similar situation. If I use hard code value for Fiscal year/period like 2010001 in Hyperlink, it works fine. But I want use variable instead of hard code values for Fiscal year period. Please suggest.

Thanks,

Ashh

Hi,

depending on the situation if the prompt is optional or mandatory you will have to pass in values to the prompt and you need to make sure you passing in the key values not the descriptions

Hi Ingo,

Thanks for your answer, the prompt defined in BEx is on the fiscal period (0fiscper) and optional. I tried to pass the key, the name, the object itself. I also tried to send a constant with all possible formats (description, keys in different formats....), but nothing seems to work. I am working with XI3.1 FP 2.6.
