Hi Experts,

I have run the rsxmb_cancel_messages in se 38.

All error messages now show as cancelled manually.

I have been able to delete all messages except these...

It still shows in moni as manually cancelled.

Any Idea on how I can proceed on this.. ther is no archiving in place...

The rentetion period is 7 days .

Regards,

Teja

That seems the most possible cause. Did you cancel the messages today?

If so, the end time for the messages would be today and you can delete them only after 7 days.

Ravindra,

There are so many reasons why this could be happening & there are many SAP Notes/blogs/forum posts on troubleshooting archiving & deletion in PI.

Another thing you could start checking is whether you have the 'Switch Procedure' (TCode SXMB_ADM --> Configure Delete Procedure) activated because this can change the deletion behaviour considerably.

Then there's things to check like correct user auths for deletion, disk space for switch procedure (if applicable) etc..But you'll unfortunately need to go through the troubleshooting guide/s to identify what the problem is in your specific scenario. Once you've narrowed down the issue then we'll be in a better position to help you.

Regards, Trevor

Hello Ravindra,

these messages need to be archived.

Whenever a message is canceled its interface action is changed to 'archive'. This is due to tracebility reasons. Once the Integration Server accepts an asynchronous message, it takes over responsibility for delivery accoring to the EO/EOIO protocol. Canceling a message means a fatal violation of that protocol and hence needs to be documented. For this purpose XI runtime forces this message to be archived.

For your reference you might want to have a look at SAP Note 872388, section 5 -> k -> 1).
