Adding a Time Char in a cube

Hi All,

What will be the best and the fastest way to add a time char in a standard cube... i need to add 0 calweek, 0calmonth, 0calquarter and 0fiscal year in the standard cube... I am not worry about the data i just need the fastest way to add theses time char in my cube.... Your help is appreciated

Hi ,

Simply drag the info objects into the time dimension of your cube, it wont take more than 1 minute.Just be sure that what time characteristics you have to add.

When i will load data it will be accordingly to be by my time char... i dont need to add any routines and stuff.

Hi,

Just map all other time char to 0Calday , data in cube will start coming.

Hi,

Do you have 0CALDAY in your cube based on which you want to derive these values.

Map other time chars to calday , it will use automatic time conversion t calculate these values.

I dont have 0calday in my cube??? if i will add 0calday in my cube it will not show up as a source in my update rules so iwll not have a choice to map it...

Also my data is coming from the underlying DSO ...

Any ideas... I am trying to avoid the abap routines...

If you dont have calday in your cube/DSO, then please let me know which time char is present in your DSO/Cube which has source data.

I have posting date in the document 0FM_Date... 0PU_BLDATE..

I thinking about to map the posting date,,, What do you think

Hi,

Yes you are absolutely right , there is no problem , your date will come based on your posting date and there after all your time chars will be derived based on your posting date. Like month will get the month of posting date.

Thank you for your reply.. I have 4 diffrent dso updating this cube.. I need to check for the every DSO update rules for cube to see if they all have the posting date... If this is the case i guess my issue is resolve..

Thak you for your reply... My Problem is not all the DSO have the posting date as a source in the update rules for my Info Provider.... What would be my option... Do i need to write e routine...

Hi,

You can use either of the below methods.

Double click on the cube>Go to edit mode>Add the info objects in the time dimension.

OR

Use Remodelling to add these info objects.
