Hi all

I want to create standby DB. I did full backup of my Maxdb 7.6.06. DB works with SAP 7.0 around half year

Recovered standby DB from backup, but when i tryed to recover redolog i found that i lost 5 redolog files...

How i can clean sequence of redolog files and if it possible will it work with new redolog.?

Or what the another way is?

I did admin backup of another DB. Recover DB and logs.

No any problem with normal log-backup history, i mean when i load logs started from first...

But in main DB (which i want to create standby in prod) first 5 logs were lose, and i cann't to recover logs...

Is there any variant to clean backup history ???

Not sure, what exactly you mean with "clean backup history".

But to start a new sequence of log backups just take a new complete data backup.

From then on the subsequent log backups can be used for further recovery.

Yes you means me properly!

But i also did complete databackup and logbackup, but problem still same - sequence of logs weren't consystent and recovery of logs faild.

But i try to repeat you proposition with backup

It's very confusing what you write, what do you mean with "sequence of logs weren't consistent"?

You have to start recovering log with the first log you created after the full backup.

I'm not sure what you did. Were you trying to bring your standby database online or are you create a NEW standby database?

You can't clean the sequence of redo log files, that's why they are numbered.

Hi,

It seems that you are using online backup to recover the standby database that's why you need redo logs file. Can you share the command you are using to recover database. If you have missed out the redo log file which os required for recovery, it would be difficult to recover the standby database to consistent state.

This is not Oracle. A full MaxDB database backup is always consistent and can be restarted. If he misses a redo log because the imported backup is too old he has to create a new backup.
