Doubt Regarding Business Warehouse Characteristic Infoobject in Business Explorer Tab

Hi,

I have doubt in Business Explorer Tab in Characteristic Infoobject.

It has one selection parameter with possible input values:

- No Selection Restriction

- Unique For Every Cell

- Unique For Query

I gone through help, but I could not understand the purpose, technical importance of this selection parameter. Can anyone please explain in detail or with example the impact, purpose, importance of this selection parameter in Business Explorer Tab in Characteristic Infoobject?

The selection describes if and how the values of a characteristic in queries should be restricted.

If the value 'Clear for every Cell' has been selected, the characteristic must be restricted to one value in every column and in every structure for all the queries. The characteristic can not then be aggregated.

Typical examples for such characteristics are 'Plan Actual Indicator' or 'Value Type'.

Thanks for your reply, but whatever you have replied is there in the help which I already gone through, but I could not understand it impact in BEx & importance. Can you/anybody elaborate/explain in detail, better way to understand?
