We would like to leverage the following operations: -

  • Get all UME users
  • -Create/update/delete UME users -
  • Assign ume, portal roles to users
  • From the link http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/668e6629-0701-0010-7ca0-994cb7dec5a3?overridelayout=true There is an option of usign the spml service ,but the version used is SPML 1.0.
  • I came across https://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/SPS09/se/com/sap/security/api/UMFactory.html I would like to know if we can acess the UME API's from a standalone java program which is running in different JVM as that of SAP Portal.
  • In the javadoc it is mentioned : ================================ public static void initialize(String umeCfgPath) FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY: Initialize UME For standalone issues. The current classloader MUST be able to load classes that are part of UME Core, especially com.sap.security.core.InternalUMFactory! Parameters: umeCfgPath - String object that contains the path to the sapum.properties file and the additional xml files ======================================= It is mentioned for internal use only.
  • Question is :Can we access the UME API's without deploying any component on the portal.
