Hi!
We move our server (Windows 2003 with SAP ERP on Oracle 10.2.0.2) from one location to another location.
We schedule daily at the night a full online backup with redo logs (option -sd).
The oracle relevant data are stored on SAN, so they must be restored.
Question
What is the approach to restore the Oracle relevant data from a valid online brbackup?
(commandos, any actions with control file, redo logs).
When we start the server on new location we only have the C: partition and emtpy SAN partitions.
The SAP-EXE partition will be restored via NTBACKUP.
Hi,
Your approach would be :
1. Install target system
2. Restore SAP Application backup (/usr) using NTbackup
3. Restore All Database backup on second drive (SAN drive).
4. Make sure that SAN drive has the drive letter same as source system.
5. Restore "System State" backup of source system.
6. Check environment variables for <SID>ADM and SAPService<SID> user.
Then try to start the database and SAP.
Regards.
