How to delete a posting period that has no data?

Hello B1,

I am attempting to set up a new Company & it was initially set up with Yearly Posting Periods, but now it needs to be changed to Monthly. I have attempted to Right-Click>Remove the only period in the system that has no transactions in it & the error that comes back says "Cannot remove the last period" Message 173-116.

Is there another step that I have to take to remove that period, being that it is the only one in the system?

Hello,

Since you have only one period, that is not deletable. You may try to add some valid periods first such as previous periods in last year. If you could add the periods, this will not be the only one so that you could delete it.
