Stock adjustments

Hi

Client want to perform stock adjustment, but not interested in using physical inventory a/c as this hits stock a/c and Shortage/ShrinkResEx a/c

They want to hit to variance account for any stock adjustments. In case of physical inventory account they are fine with Shortage/ShrinkResEx a/c

any suggestions? how i can achieve above requirement
