Hello. First I want to say there is not a HR consultant on site so suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I searched the site and can not find the answer to my problem.
The client hires interns every summber...these are usually the same people. The client does not want to issue new badge numbers for these individuals. Go Live date was Jan 1. These interns were in the system at that time as active employees. When they were hired for this summer HR noticed they were never termed...so they termed them then waited the 24 hours and rehired, One of the rehires is in the system twice...once with a term date and the other with a rehire date....the status of both records is active???? One does ....when the intern tries to input his badge number in a transaction (IW32) as person responsible it states that the badge number entered is missing master data. You can see him in PA30, PA40, PA10, etc....what is the missing step? Please advise....Thanks in advance!
Can you rephrase your question

Hi Sandip, will you please explain a little more...I know when we sdet the one record for termination it said it would be delimited, however the status still states active...
Also the term date looks like it is defaulting to withdrawn and will not allow us to select the inactive...??? it is greyed out...this happens if you are terminating or not....for the first time, you can not select from drop down the different options...does this matter?

For termination status should not be active. It should be inactive. Did you configure the infogroup for termination properly. One more thing position should be 99999999.
1. Check your infogroup as to see how IT 0001 is set up
2. In the set up for Personal action - Termination see if Employee status is set to inactive

Hi
I am trying my best to troubleshoot this and seem to be getting no where...I am going thru the steps of terminationg the emplyee in a quality client then to rehire this emplyee (intern).
I am hoping the warnings, etc I am going to state below will give you some idea of what the problem is.
In PA40 I enter the personnel number and select the personel action "termination"
Then I execute....the copy action screen is displayed
action type is defaulted from previous screen and uner status it has the employment as " 0 withdrawn" this is greyed out (I have checked in config under personnel action types and the check is got the input as MSN20 withdrawn; when seleting the F1 for this SAP tells me the only features available is
The following features are available:
MSN20 for withdrawal
MSN21 for reentry
MSN32 for early retirement/retirement
Back to my PA40 screen I change the "start date to the termination date" ....the to date is greyed out ...can not change...and reads 12/31/9999...then execute info group...I then get a pop up Warning
stating
Personnel action infotype not saved with execute info group function. I get a choice to go back or continue...I continue and then move to the copy organzational assignmnet screen...I entered tje position as 9999999 (which states default position)
I need to be able to term this employee as of date 08/23/2009...he migrated over with the master data and was only an intern for the summer last year. We went live Jan 1 of this year. I need to be able to reinstate him for this summer....again...I am hitting road blocks...please someone help....it will be gretaly appreciated...
then save...record is created
When I go back to PA30 and display....my EE group is active...and my EE subgroup is active hourly
I enter the infotype 0000 or 0001 - I see the start date is my term date I entered....
Hi Sandip....when trying to term him again it states the record is not saved identical record already exists. When I do go into PA30 enter the 0000 info type. Go to the overview....I see the New hire date from last year and the term date I just did yesterday....but still shows "active" in status and the EE group

Until unless you save the IT 0000 then only Employment status will be changed. But in your case you are not able to save IT 0000 and then you are going to IT 0001. So problem is coming here.
Please explain what error you are getting in IT 0000 while performing "Termination" Action.
I would recommend you to run termination action for another employee and give termination date as a other then Hire date of this employee.

Here is the exact process and meesage I am doing...this was on a different employee
transaction PA30
Enter employee badge number
Enter info type 0000 (actions)
from file menu select HR master data >personnel actions
on the screen highlight the termination line
execute
start date I enter the term date ( I chose 03/31/2010)
press save
Receive warning Record valid from 10/15/2007 to 12/31/9999 delimited at end
press enter
Position defaulted this time to 9999999
EE group is still active
- is this ok?
Am I missing anything?
Then it's fine. Emplotment status would be withdrawn. For changing EE Group you have to perform Employee group action.
For that go to PA40
Then give the batch number
Then select Employee Group/Position change action
Then change manualy the employee group.
Hope this answers your question.

Sandip
