Ides ecc6 post installation steps

hi

i am installing ides 3cc6.

i wanna know the post installation steps once installation is completed.

can anyone of you please tell me step by step.

i know the installation guide site is service.sap.com/instguides but i cant find the guides of ides at that site so kindly tell me here or give me proper site link to download it.

Hi,

Normally for any kind of system from BASIS (ABAP) point of view the following basic post installation steps should be followed.

1) Check for any installation errors in Tcode SM28

2) Load system profiles in to SAP using Tcode RZ10

3) Create a admin user with SAP_ALL access.

4) Apply for permanent license in service market place and install the same in system using TCode SLICENSE.

5) Create a new client using Tcode SCC4 and then do a local client copy from 000 (But, in your case you can aviod this step as it is a IDES system and will have a pre-installed client 800. If you dont want to use 800 then as said create a client and do a local client copy)

6) Increase the work process as per the requirement using the instance profile from RZ10

7) Upgrade the kernel patch level to latest available.

😎 Confgiure the single system transport management using Tcode STMS

9) Apply the latest support patches for the components.

10) Run the update statistics of the database.

11) Take one full offline/online backup of the system.

After the above common tasks then based on the product (Like JAVA stack, CRM, SRM, BI, PI etc) will continue with their post-installion task as per the inst guide.

We can add some more activities like SAP profile parameter tuning, DB parameter tuning,scheduling of standard jobs etc.

The ECC installation guide has a proper section for post install activities as well.

Hi,

After logging into service.sap.com/instguides

On the left hand side expand SAP Business Suite Applications->SAP ERP->SAP ERP 6.0.

Here you will find the Installation guide, which will have the post Installation steps in detail.
