SAP BIP: Reverse Proxy & Analysis Office Client

Hello everyone,

I helped my customer to get his SAP BIP accessible from outside through a reverse proxy scenario. Users can logon also using SSO and open for e.g a Lumira Dashboard report.

Now we are stuck on opening Analysis Office workbooks - the user get´s an error message : Addin returned an error: Check log file of the addin.

Of course I checked the log files but there´s no helpful information there.

So in general: Is it possible to use AFO workbooks even when I access SAP BIP with a reverse Proxy? What to do on the client side to get this working and what needs to be done on the server side? I checked documentation but couldn´t find any helpful information or guides how to archieve this.

Many thanks in advance.

Br,

Mario

I have fixed your primary tag, please select more careful next time.

Also, it is not clear from your post what exact workflow is failing and where.

Hello,

I want to describe the problem more in detail.

The customer can access the BI Launchpad already from outside the company network through a reverse proxy. When the user wants to open a Analysis workbook the error message appears. I guess the client installation of Analysis Office doesn´t know how to connect to SAP BIP through the reverse proxy.

Does the AFO client support to connect from "external" through a reverse proxy to the BIP platform and open a workbook?

Thanks and best regards,

Mario
