Explosion of BOM via MRP Run

Hello

I have the following BOM setup.

Material A

I

Material B

I

Material C

Is there a setting which I can activate that will allow MRP to pick up requirments placed on Material B then explode the BOM of Material B and place independant requirements on Material C but not generate any planned orders for Material B? I've tried MRP type X0 but this requires the use of APO which we're not using and subsequently doesn't work for this scenario.
