VK11 - defaut the UOM to Sales UOM and not Base UOM

When adding materials to certain pricing conditions... key: sales org/customer/material for example... as each material is entered, and then the <ENTER> key is pressed the UOM field on the screen defaults to the materials Base UOM, pulled from MARA table, I would assume. We'd like for it to default to the material's Sales UOM instead.I know of BADI SD_COND_SAVE_A, and I've used it before, but it runs after the SAVE icon is clicked, which is too late. I've done some Googling and I've read that there are no traditional exits available for VK11. So my question is.... Is it possible to make the change I want?

Further, I'd want to make this same change to the scales screen, too, if the material requires a pricing scale.

Thanks for any feedback!

Hi,

Not sure on the SAP version you are working with, but you can check with some OSS notes.

1) Note 333469 - Proposal of base unit of measure instead of sales unit

2) Note 431288 - Proposal of base unit of measure instead of sales unit (II)

I took a look at both of those notes. We are running ECC6, so it does not look like either applies in our case, but what is odd is that the issue I have is exactly identified by both notes.

Pasting the exact text from the first note, it reads... "If you maintain condition records, the system proposes the base unit of measure instead of the sales unit." That is my issue, but under the Solution section, it clearly states that this issue has been resolved in Release 5.0, which I assume is ECC5. We are running ECC6. I wonder if this could still be an issue even though SAP does not believe it is.

I believe I stumbled onto the answer. The key combination is what determines the UOM, according to SAP Note # 312387. If the key combination contains the sales org and the dist. channel, the sales UOM will be used. If not, then the base UOM will be used. I've seem to verify this in our sandbox.

In the condition type definition you can mention the UOM which you want to default. may be you can try that and check.

you should also tick Qty Conversion field.

I took the following path in configuration (SPRO)...

Sales and Distribution --> Basic Functions --> Pricing --> Define Condition Types -- Maintain Condition Types. I selected the condition type in question (PR00). I see a Unit of meas. field within the Scales area of the screen. I assume this is to which you are referring.

My only question/problem is wouldn't this just default all materials to the UOM that I provide in this field? I need each material to default to its own Sales UOM.
