How to Delete a Material ?

Hi,

I'm a technical guy, configured a workflow to trigger an email when a material is created. For testing i have created a material. Now i wanna delete that material only which i have created. Can anyone help out in the regard. Please give links for deleteing specific material not all the materials.

Hi Friend,

If you created an material by error and you want to delete that material from the data base you can do it in this simple 4 steps. The only condition is that this material has to have no material movement recorded.

These are the steps:1

1) Flag material for deletion. transaction MM06

2) Run report MMREO001 - Selection of materials flagged for deletion and select the material

3) Run report MMREO050 Archive Materials to archive the material (some customizing settings might be required)

4) Run report MMREO110 Deletion Program for Archiving Materials to delete the material from the database.

These reports are called by the SARA transaction too.

you have to archive it with object MM_MATNR. there is no other standard way (or write an own report 🐵

make archive the material usinig tcode: SARA

or

make deletion flag using t code: MM06 , you can make it at company code level,. plant level or storage location level

Hi

First mark the material for deletion using MM06

Then use MM71 / SARA for archive the material.

For a single material i'll not advise to do the above.

I have set flag for deletion using MM06 txcode. After this i have executed MMREO050 report to Archive the Material but i am getting error message saying..

W4125 MARA: 900 SWITCHS Other dependent data exists

Where SWITCHS is the material which i have created. How to over come from this error.

check out that is any dependent document is created for the same material like pr or po (u will get the list if u try to change the valuaiton class in mm02)

take help of ur abaaper

you want to delete completely???

if not then just use mm06

if yes then u can use SARA or mm71

hi,

I just created a material with BASIC data1 in which i just gave description of the material, Base Unit of Measure and Material Group and GenItemCatGroup NORM Standard item thats it. No transactions happen with the material as i have just created.
