EDI file to IDOC using Business connector 4.6

Hi Gurus,

We have a requirement of converting the EDI file to IDOC using Business connector 4.6 (943 & 944 ) one Inbound and other is outbound ..

Can any one of you share the document on developing the scensrio ... we have searched couldnt get the same.

Hi Jyoti,

Thanks for the document , can you please help on how to convert the XML to EDI ... In XI we have a IR where we can do the transformation and Modules are there for the same.

So Similarly could you please share on how it can be transfomed to EDI ....

Hi Murthy,

In PI for EDI Transformation we use See burger or Conversion agent some time writing adapter modules will help.

But bussiness connectio is entirely differer compare to PI,may be you can develo some java service and use the same Bussiness Connector.

Thanks for the reply , Yes currently we also having the project using PI as rightly said we are using the seeburger and then converting the EDI format to XML and then mapped in IR to the IDOC .

also using Item field conversion we developed some projects , similarly we have developed using modules too .

Since the Business connector is new to us we didnt able to catch hold on where to import the Java program that we write in the Business connector ... from Jothi reply understood the server side configuration.

In case of BC where is that we need to implement the java code if you can share some thing on this would be good .

Could you please share on how to transform and then implement the code in the BC ....

Bussiness Conector and Webmethods more are euilent,the way how we write java mapping programs in PI,the same way we can write java services in Bussiness Connector,so i thinking that the JAVA service will help you.

Hi Raj,

Is there a standard programs avaible for 943 Inbound EDI to XML conversion , because writing in Java on field by field from File will be more diffuclt .... if that is in a XML format we can easily create..

Have you worked on this ? could you please share anything that is relavent to this.

Hi Murthy,

I worked one two migration projects SAP BC to PI7.1,WebMethods to 7.0,Web methods and BC both are same,BC uses webmthods developer tool (GUI interface)for mapping and everything.

I dont know about any predefined services available or not,but i have developed some interface using BC at that time,but i dint find any option , even i dont think it will support EDI trasformation directly.My clinet used GXS to trasform EDi TO xml,then we picked the message using BC.
