We are allocaing say 20 Hrs of work for an emplyee in Activity-Person Assignment Tab.
Now when an employee enters his time sheet thru CAT2, we are having the following two problems:
The activity appears even after the specified time/dates-We do not want this to happen
(ii) Te employee is able to book additional hours in the time sheet (more that the hours allocated)
How do we prevent the above? Pl advise.
Hi,
Maintain constraints for the activity "Must finish on" and check. This should work.

You can use user exit for timesheets for controlling booking of excess hours per day. about your 1st issue, can you explain in detail ?

WHen you are booking timesheet, it is not immediately creating confirmation entry but after you run CATA.So, confirmation parameter setting will not work here.
If the requirement is that user should not be able to book more than 12 hours per day, then user exit is the best option to do it.
We are using it currently, it is working fine for us.
If you want to control the excess hours booking than the planned hours for the resource, then you might require to use some other means like "approval for timesheet".

My scenario far ex: The total duration of the activity is say 100 Hrs; This is assigned to 5 employees ( say for 20 Hrs each)
So I cannot confim the Activity thru CJ20N or CN25 till all the 5 employees enter their time sheets.
And the problem of the system permitting entry of additional time hrs still remains. Pl advise

Hi,
In that case tyr and check by maintaining constraint "Must Finish On" and schedule your project. Even if there are multiple resources assigned to the activity system wont show the activity in the worklist after the date that is maintained in the constraint.
Please check this and revert. I think it should work.
