FAQ is fixed. It may be a browser cache issue.

Key priority is to get the Service Market Place user logon working then we'll get the quick-tour issue fixed.

Service Marketplace (SMP) user logon is now supported via your SMP passport.

If you do not have a SMP passport and you are a SMP user, go to [https://service.sap.com] and click on u201CBenefit from Single Sign Onu201D in the top-right corner. Sign on will be automatic afterward and you should see your name in the right hand side 'Welcome <First Name> <Last Name>". Note: this will also enable Single Sign On with SMP.

All other SCN users will still be able to logon with username and password.

Now that you can, please post any ideas or feedback on Idea Place.

Looks like my SCN account is not working. The certificate is not working either. Or am I doing anything wrong? I am not going to create a new account, why would one do that? I though the strategy is to have one account for one user and do not create Otto1 to Otto99 as some "hardworking" people do. Otto

I agree, creating multiple users for the purpose of this experiment is not really an encouraged behavior. When checking with colleagues I understood that this problem is being addressed.

You should feel proud Otto that your enthusiasm and passion for this topic helped drive it to seeing light here.

I'll also advocate your great idea of seeing this embedded as an announcement banner.

Credits about this great "toy" (now) and an important innovation place (hopefully soon) are not mine but only yours and your colleagues. This place was not built for me (I doubt it was built for that few passionate SDNers here), the scope is much greater - the innovation of the core SAP products. I think very highly of all the people who helped to make this true. Thank you!

You should tell the people about this great places where some of the dreams of the users and the developers can come true. Would be great (imho) to do it through the banner, which could attract much more people than the mobile/ CRM/ whatever commercials.

I have one last question, if I know you will read it, Marilyn. It is about the customer development and Craig´s new job and about the Michal Krawczyk and all together:)) I wonder if there is a channel (or it is a planned activity, or Craig´s new job?) to send the customer development to SAP (some labs) so some SAP architect can judge if such thing would be useful to have in SAP standard.

Why do I ask: A (master)piece of development by Michal was found useful (I don´t know by who, when, why etc. but would like to know) by the SAP people and this development made it to some enhancement package or something. That means there are things not covered by SAP, or which could be covered in a better way etc etc. This way the SAP systems could progress in a fast (not necessary good, I know) and cheaper for SAP (useful?!?) way...

Typical example: I am not sure if you have noticed, my area of expertise is the Adobe forms development for SAP (and some other stuff of course). And quite many forms don´t exist in Adobe (but exist in Smartforms/ SAPscripts) and the customers are spending the money again and again (each customer himself) to rebuild the forms in Adobe. Or the forms useful for the data exchange with the government, law purposes etc. Each company is building the same form itself because they cannot get it from SAP standard.

I wonder what is your opinion about it? And of course the opinions of all the readers.

The question is a tiny bit complex (because you ask so many things at once LOL) but since this is a thread about Idea Place I'll start this part of the answer around Idea Place and other complementary environments on SCN.

CodeX is a place for extending development solutions with actual code extensions

Idea Place - for product improvement discussions, ranking ideas and could be a "nursery" for things that are implemented in Codex

Innocentive is innovation projects "for a bounty"

Ecohub are partner developed solutions displayed in vendor provided storefronts.

Craig Cmehil is leading an Innojagd (Innovation Hunt) and you can comment and engage with him directly on his blog posts about that topic.

There are many ways as you can see to promote "masterpieces of development" and innovative ideas.

Being aware of the different venues is the first step.

Choosing which environment or environments are suitable for your participation is the obvious next step.

I am not marketing expert, but I would say the impact, the attraction (cannot find the right words, hope you can understand) of the banners would be much better if you (the admins or something) add few (like 5 or something) banners, not to see the same one for weeks (days...).

If I would know that the banner changes time to time, I would check it myself sometime to make sure I don´t miss something really useful/ important.

Same story, every time:)). I can understand you don´t want to make any promises, but prepare for the users (like hundreds of users, I would say) asking about it and many (some) other features. You´d better write an article/ faq/ anything to explain that some features will be available in v2 (and which main features are those).

Just trying to be helpful, hope you don´t mind. The details we are discussing here are minor comparing to the great leap for the SAP people and I don´t want to spoil the feeling of the winner with the details. Again, hope you don´t mind.
