Do we need to restart SAP after factory calendar update (ZZTSTRDELE)

Hello,

We want to update factory calendar in production and have found the OSS Notes 169885 saying that program ZZTSTRDELE should be run after that.

Do we need to restart the SAP application as well or is it not needed ?

Best Regards, Manuel

I am only seeing your answer now.

Well the point is that I don't know what time streams is and we had issues in the past with delivery dates calculated without taking account to the new factory calendar.

Actually we have been doing these restarts for any calendar updates for years, and I am questioning the interest of doing so.

I think you have the same opinion than me but I am afrait I don't have valid facts in your answer to back this opinon

And I'm only seeing your answer because I opened the question list today. 🙂 (We're supposed to use "comment on this answer" if we want the person to get notified of a reply. We are not notified of the new answers, unfortunately.)

SD tag is simply a wrong place for such questions. As I said, we do calendar updates and never had to do any restarts. And imagine a huge global SAP installation for a company like BMW, how could this possibly be acceptable for them?

You will not find a proof that restart is not needed because it's a normal operation mode. Whoever doing such restarts in your system has to prove the need for that. Not the other way around.

As a side note - obviously, SCN members can't know what is going on in your system exactly. So why not just discuss this with your Basis admin?

It seems like you have enough facts already, might want to start closing the question.

It's not at all what the note says. It is only relevant when you have some problem with "time streams" (whatever that is).

Restart SAP? Ask your Basis admin, they could enjoy a good laugh. 🙂 SAP is not like a PC, it doesn't get rebooted willy-nilly. Why would you even think it's necessary?

Sorry, I suspect you are overthinking this (or not telling us something). We're making factory calendar changes annually without running any additional reports, it's a routine configuration change.
