change variant without SE38

Hi,

I was wondering if i can change a variant of a ABAP Report without giving the user teh authorization for SE38. Any knows about that?? Thanks in advance

changing variant is possible over tcode sa38 or sm37

Yes.... your report should be executable on-line by transaction code (Zxxx) and the users can create their own variants for the report. End users should never have SE38.

If they need to run a report from the ABAP workbench, give them ONLY SA38. But then, if you always create a transaction code for your type 1 executables, they never need Sx38, do they?
