Multiple deliveries for value item

Dear Gurus,

For item category with item type specified as value item (A), upon creation of the first delivery, the order item status is updated as "Fully delivered". As a result, we are not able to perform multiple deliveries.

Is there any way to fix this problem. Thanks for your advise.
