C4C Active users key figure

Hi Guys,

I'm facing an issue to define a restricted key figure to calculate the active users.

My requirement: I want to calculate the number of active users. I've found that there is a field on the User object called User Account Inactive (User) (1USER/USERINACT).

What I've done is: Business Analytics => Design Key Figures => New

  1. Tab "Define a Key figure and a data source", I created a restricted key figure based on a counter and related to "User Logon Details" data source.
  2. Tab "Restric/Calculate Key figure", I added a row, but when I want to select the characteristic User Account Inactive (User) (1USER/USERINACT), it's not accessible. I can only have access to User. All the children characteristics under User are not accessible.

Any idea how I can fix this?

Any thought regarding the calculation of the active users?

The context of my request:

I want to define a report to be displayed on a chart comparing the nulber of users connected last month vs. the total of active users.

Thank you for your help!

    Hello Reda,

The "User Account Inactive (User)" is an attribute of characteristic field "User", therefore it cannot be used in key figure design, since attributes are not available for such usage.
As an alternative you can use the characteristics "Valid To" or "Last Logon Date", which are available in report User Logon Details [CCARUSRLOG], to validate whether the user account has already expired, or if the user is more than N months without logging into the system, and then determine whether this account would count as inactive.
In case the above suggestion does not fit into your requirement, I'd suggest you to submit a new enhancement request via our Customer Influence channel, so that our development teams consider adding field "User Account Inactive" as a native characteristic rather than attribute, so it becomes available for usage in restricted key figures.

    Hope this helps.

    • Hi Marlon,

Thank you for your detailed answer.

I've tried with the User Logon Details report but it seems that the counter is not working, please fin below the steps performed:

      1. I've created a customer report based on "User Logon Details" data source, because the standard report [CCARUSRLOG] doesn't include the counter
      2. I've diplsayed the result => the counter value is equal to 0

Could you please provide your feedback?

      Thank you for your help!

    Hello Réda,

Can you please provide the steps you performed to create the key figure "RBEN - Users without login", as well as the specific restrictions you applied to this KF, so we can look further into it?

    Hi Marlon,

For sure, please find below the steps executed, "Business Analysis/Design Key Figures/New":

    1. Tab "Define Key Figure & Select Data source", Data source: User Logon Details & Type: Calculated Key Figure
    2. Tab "Restrict/Calculate Key Figure", fomula = [counter]
    3. Tab "Properties", Local Calculation: not selected, Exception Aggregation: "Counter for All Detailed Values That Are Not Zero, Null, or Error" as Aggregation Type & "Users" as Characteristic
    4. Finish

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Reda

You could also try to use the User Subscription Data Source which gives you information of how many 'Counted' users exist in the system as of the current date

As you can see, it gives you information for both Counted and not counted users - say if the valid to for certain users is in the past.

You can then create a Restricted Key figure for counter on the characteristic Counted User Indicator to give you the specific count of Counted Users

In the report when you pull this Key figure, it gives you the correct information. In my example, there were 19 'Not counted users' and the results verify it

    Hope this helps

    Cheers !
