Security on buttons in WDN ABAP

Good day,

I have been given a requirement to add security on Buttons in a Webdynpro (ABAP) View. Some users should be able to access only button 1, other users button 2 and so on.

Is this scenario possible. Please advise.

Kind regards, Liz

    Hi,

one way how to achieve this is to use Floor Plan Manager. You can define various configurations for same WDA. In each configuration you can hide button and then allow users to run selected configurations. Basically, it's same as transactions with variants. I am not 100% sure if this is a really secure solution. Using this method you just hide buttons. If the attacker is capable of forcing that action without clicking on button then it does not help too much.

Another way is to implement your own logic in web dynpro. If it is your custom application then there is no problem at all. If it is a standard WDA from SAP then it will be little bit more complicated. But you can use enhancement framework to achieve your goal.

    Cheers
