Manual Error on Budget Posting

Former Member

Hello everyone,

I had an issue regarding budget posting to projects.

One of our user has accidentally posted wrong entries to particular WBS elements a few days back. But we are not able to trace back to which. Would any one have an idea whether any tcodes exist to check what were the changes and what was the actual?

If not, is there any table where we can find out which user has accessed the Budget of which WBS? My Basis person is only able to specify which transaction code the user has used.. Not which object.. or which WBS.

Any help on this is highly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Aji Kurian Mani

Even if you had used CJ30 to update/change the budget, you can get the report on who/when/how much budget has been changed in CJI8 report....change the layout and pull in the fields, created by and document date, this will show you which user has changed the budget. But as best practice follow Virendra's suggestion on updating budget.

Hi,

In TXn CJ3B you can find out the Budget documents that has been posted based on the

user id and dates. WBSE and amount posted also will be displayed.

True I can see.. But Is there any way i can see what was the previous budget or what change was made?

this requirement is usually controlled using business process

use transaction CJ30 to enter original budget with some text

then set lock budget status on WBS using user status - this means no one change original budget

now use CJ37/CJ38 to supplement / return budget - always use text to enter why you have supplemented or returned budget

there are budget update reports that can be then run to find the current budget = original +/- supplement/return

you can also run CJI8 and see the text to understand why the changes were made

If you have not used the above process then CJ3A is the only option you have to see the detailed document
