Hi James,

You have to register yourself as a developer for that Installation on

service.sap.com.

Once you do that you will get a Developer's Key, which you can use.

Developer Key - Is a one time activation key for you to start working on the SAP custom developements like programs, creating tables, etc... This is unique for one developer for one installation.

Guru Vishnu

Thanks for reply.

One sub question is.

currently we have development key for sap server ( dev-qas-prd).

For IDES server.

1) perhaps we have to use seperate key ?

2) developer key is free for IDES . i think it should be .. what you would like to say ?

Hi,

As per my knowledge, once the SAP is purchased and installed the developer key can be generated for any system (DEV-QLT-PRD-IDES)without need to pay anything. The only thing is in which ever system you want the key it needs to be generated from service market place.

If the ID which you are using in IDES is sames as DEV and also installation number is same as DEV system then you can use the same key which you have generated for DEV. Also, for your information developer keys should be created in QLT and PRD systems. If the ID is different from DEV then you need to again generate in service market place.

Hope clarified.

Hi James,

The developer key is dependent on the Installation number.

It is free, but you would still have to register the developer's user name on

service.sap.com with the corresponding Installation.

This holds good even for IDES versions.

Vishnu.

Hi,

1) perhaps we have to use seperate key ?

Yes. You have to use seperate key. Because, your installation no. would be different.

2) developer key is free for IDES . i think it should be .. what you would like to say ?

Yes. AFAIK It is not chargable as it is "International Demo and Education System" but only for VALID sap customers.

Additionally, You have to register it on SMP as normally you do and generate and install license for IDES system.
