Service module by S/N, best practice

Hi all,

Can someone confirm this behavior in SBO (8.8), for providing service to customer based on serial numbered item,

1. Customer equipment card (CEC) > this specific to serial numbered items only. Only one CEC can be produce for 1 specific serial numbered items sold. We can say it is act as if it is a hardcopy of a warranty card when we purchase a product.

2. Service contract > for serial numbered items, service contract can only be created when there is an existing CEC for the item. Without it, we cannot create one based on serial numbered item.

3. Service call, again, for serial numbered items > can only be made when there is an existing CEC. Without CEC, no serial number will be listed on serial number drop down box.

If all above is true, it means the only way to provide service (by opening service call) to specific serial numbered items, both CEC and service contract must exist.
When we set CEC to auto create, which will create Service contract automatically as well, then in terms of database size, how fast will it grows when there are about 10K serial numbered items sold within a month? that's equal to 10K CEC, and maybe 1K service contracts.
I'm worried on the database size after couple of years running it.
