Hi,

As im getting in to this subject as a beginner ...your insights will be of much helpful to me in understanding the subject...

Here are my quetstWhat is the neccesity for a company to go for IS MEdia though they have SD in place. Any benefit for that ?

Any functional advantage of using the IS Media component ?

Also, please let me know the linkage between IS Media and CRM ?

Hi,

IS media is used especially for Media Publishing and Entertainment companies.

SAP provides this functionality to Map exact business process in SAP. u can even create a material master and process but it will be only a logical mapping.

If you want an exact business process and terminologies they are using in media industry SAP provides u the option to customize.

More over SAp has brought in lot of enhancements in Ecc6.0EHP4 package.

Where u can do forecasting of your products with the parameters you define. You will get variable parameters even from outside sources also which SAP helps u to record in system and give you the exacty pictures in terms of numbers.

See in publishing industry you have the products which need to be dropped at places of business partners who support your sales. Transport Planning has been mapped tremendously to achieve the complicated process in a more structured manner.

Tracking the goods and planning for production of copies SAP has beautifully mapped which helps Business to support their daily operations in the same manner as they did.

Normal SD - we will maintain the customer master

CRM and IS-Media - linking the Business partner (customer master) and the sales history

IS-Media - Book the Advertisements.

Press Distirbution - This is for the publishing house, they can do planning for sales and purchase. customer returns and return to publisher.
