For Infotype 2012, when we use PA 30 to delimit the record, the system deletes the record completely. Has anyone come across this issue? How did you solve it?
This is not an issue it is a feature...
Check table V_T582A what kind of time constraint IT 2012 has - Z. Time contraint Z is dedicated for time mangement:
Time Constraint Z is unique to Time Management infotype records. The time constraint for a time infotype record is defined in the subtype.

So, if you are not happy with sucn behavior you have to change time constraint from Z to 2 (according with your requirements).

Hi,
just like IT0015, IT2012 is a 'one-day-valid' infotype, so no possibility to delimit.
Just delete.

Well. I am not so sure about that. Since the system is allowing us to enter an end date different than begin date. While in IT0015, we can't. And we have the business needs to use IT2012 to be valid over a period of time. And we always can change the END date to a different end date. But just when we use PA30 to do the delimitation, it acts as if we did it when the overview refreshed. But when we exit and come back using PA20 to relook, the entry disappear.
Hi, Ajay,
Overview of PA30
Existing Record:
Beg Date End Date Subtype Hours
6/1/2009 12/31/9999 ZPOI 480
Use Delimitation, put in 1/1/2010 as the delimitation date, and cliick the delimiation button again.
In the overview of PA30, now the system is showing
Beg Date End Date Subtype Hours
6/1/2009 12/31/2009 ZPOI 480
Exit and then go back to same PERNR using PA20, check overview,
no entry in it any more.
Is that what you are looking for as an example or you need more info?
Hi,
This info is sufficient, let me check. In the meanwhile can you check the following.
1. Go to PA20, enter your employee number then in the PERIOD section (right of Infotypes section) select ALL and then click on overview.
2. Go to SE16 enter PA2012 and then check for your EE if the earlier record exists.
cheers
Ajay
