Accessing value attribute from another component of a another DC

Hi,

Requirement : There is a DC1 with a component A and it has a value attribute. There is another DC2 which has a component B.

Is it possible to access the value attribute of Component A from Component B. Try to fetch the values of value attribute and use this in Component B.

Please provide me the steps of execution if it is possible.

Thanks & Regards,

Vijay.

    Hi Vijay,

Yes, it is possible with the web dynpro componentization.

First, you need to create the public part in DC1, then right click on component A >> add to public part.

Now you can use the DC1 public part in DC2 usign "Used DC's' >> then right click on Used web dynpro component >> add used component >> select DC1.

Now in DC1 component controller >> Create context attribute say "XYZ", same copy paste in DC1 interface controller and then mapped context attribute"XYZ" from component controller to interface controller.

Then go to DC2 >> component B >> Diagram view >> add delta link to component controller to interface controller and drag and drop attribute "XYZ" .

Now you create use this attribute "XYZ" in DC2 component controller

Please refer to this for more details :

    Hope it helps

    Hi,

Yes, it is possible to use the context attributes of one DC is another DC. You need to add the attributes / methods of one DC in the Interface controller and then access from the other DC.

    Hi Arun,

Thanks a lot. I tried resync the DC and rebuild all the projects.

The attribute values were available...i was able to solve it.

Thanks for providing the procedure and implementation steps.
