Usage Decision Issue

Dear All,

when i try to make a Usage Decision in the Development Server after i put the Usage Decision Code it get saves automatically. There the status Inspection Lot is 2.

When i try to make the UD in the Quality Server after i put the Usage Decision Code and press the Save button it gives the message "Required Characteristics still open. Do you want to Force Completion" . In the Quality server also status of Inspection Lot is 2. Why is this additional message coming. Have i coincidently transported a Config change to Quality Server?

Hi,

It might be happen because in devlopment you have taken resukt of all MIC in inspection plan.

Where as in quality you have not taken results of MIC in inspection plan, because this message gets only when result record is pending. so please check have u taken result of all mic.

And or in quality you might have kept in control indicator of mic require charecteristic check box on so system showing u message.

I Have check the Control Indicators. All says "Optional". How to set the "Check Char" value? Please explain.

How to take result in all MIC in Inspection Plan. I have not set any additional settings?

Hi,

In QA32 screen when you searching lot .If ur lot is released then you can take result record.

Once you enter in QA32 screen ,select your lot click on result record

You will get here table in which you can find all mic which is in inspection plan & then you have to put result their & valuate them as accept.-- save the transaction.

Then go for Usage decision.

Hi

"check Char" is available in QM view of material master, in inspection set up. There check the box.

I guess you have not entered results for all characteristics in RR, thats why this prompt is coming. Do RR of every MIC and force close them.

I guess this will solve the issue.

Hi All,

My issue is, in development server even when i put "Check Char" and "Optional" this message didnt prompt. But in Quality server with the same settings how come this message is coming?

Even in Development sometimes i didnt do RR for all characteristics. Still this Message didnt come.

I'm bit concerned to transport this to Production Server as if this might give an Issue?

Hi All,

Actually what has happened was due to some reason the Characteristics i have created take it as "Required". When i created a new characteristics with the same attributes and try to do the UD, it worked fine. Nothing i specifically did, its just i created the new chars and did the UD.

There can be reasons like

1.In control indicator of char you have selected "check char"

2.Either char are optional or skipped

In these case when you forcefully try to close the inspection lot without doing the result recording for all chars ,System throws this msg

Hi,

The message you are getting due to the fact that MIC assigned to the inspection plan in the lot are of "Required Nature".

Whereas in development server, the MIC in the inspection lot will have control indicator as "Optional".

Change the control indicator of MIC in the inspection plan from "Required" to "Optional" and then create an inspection lot and carry out the process.
