Hi Experts,
may I know what are the major differences between IS-Retail and R/3 ? does IS-Retail has its own Delivering and transportation or it has to get back with R/3 again for transportation? and links for IS-Retail would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kanna.
Hi kanna,
The main difference between IS Retail (for that matter IS Water, Oil, Utilities etc...) are Industry specific modules, where as R/3 is the base module handling S&D, MM, PP, HR, PS etc... there is a definitely a relationship between these modules, For example
in SAP IS-Utilities module, Device Category is nothing but Material in SAP R/3 module.
The other example is to create a Service Order, the IS-U BP creates a reference BP(in role Sold To Party) in R/3 without which Service Order functionality cannot be dealt with.
I can provide you many examples with respect to each object with respect to SAP IS modules & SAP R/3 is concerned.
Bottom line is the relationship between objects/config exists within all SAP modules.

Abhishek
