Hi Guys,
In ECC we have configured materials that can be sold both in Home or Export markets. Is there a way in which the system can be configured to automatically enter the Export packaging if the Ship-to address is an Export customer?
Many thanks,
David
Hello David
Here is my proposal:
1) In config,, maintain 2 different Material Group: Packaging Materials for the 2 scenarios- Export and domestic:
Menu path: SPRO/IMG/ Logistics Execution/Shipping/Packing/Define Material Group for Packaging Materials
2) Continue in Config to assign, different packaging materials to these 2 groups as there will be specail packaging for exports:
SPRO/IMG/ Logistics Execution/Shipping/Packing/Define Allowed Packaging Materials
3) Maintain the Export Material Group: Packaging in the Sales General/Plant data: Packaging Material Data section of the main material for the Sales Org+ Dist. Channel+ Plant combination for exports. Since Export customer will be in a different sales area from domestic one, I am guessing you can use the organizational unit handle (Dist. Channel mostly) to distinguish for this purpose. This is a crucial assumption and I hope I am right. Thus you maintain different material groups for the main material for domestic/export scenarios.
4) Turn on Automatic packaging for the required Delivery type by checking the box ' Automatic Packing' in the Delivery type config:
Menu path: SPRO/IMG/ Logistics Execution/Shipping/Deliveries/Define Delivery Types
These are the basic steps; you can try and add more as needed, let me know how it goes.
Also post this in LE forum for better response.
