Outer Join and optional parameter

Hi all,

I am trying to create a report using an Outer join ( not from within a Command) but setting it in the Database Expert --Links tab.

However, when I use one or more optional parameters , meaning (if I make the parameter/ s optional) the user does not provide/ select a value for the said parameter/s then the outer join does not work. The report does not get records for which there are no detail records. Is there a workaround or an alternative solution ?

The problem is- I have to make all parameters mandatory for all reports that use an Outer Join OR make separate reports in order to achieve the same result based on different parameters which have to be optional.

Any suggestions would be greatly helpful.
