Hi,
We are in ECC 6.0.
We have created a new PO document type ZSSS and also created a new Contract document type ZSSS.
PO of doc type ZSSS will be created with reference to Contract doc type ZSSS.
While creating condition record for output in MN04, we selected PO document type ZSSS, but the system shows Contract document type's description.
Can we not have the same document type for PO and Contract?
Should I rename Contract document type different than ZSSS?
Thanks in advance for your reply and help.
Hi,
In general, yes, it's better if you create different doc. type for PO and contract, about your specific question, this is only a display issue (system reads last value from table T161T for document type - field BSART) but values stored in database are correct.
As transaction MN04 uses standard procedures for condition maintenance the effort for a correction would be greater than its benefit, we would like to refrain from a correction.
Regards,
Mauro

Hello Shiva,
In SAP Both the Documents PO and Contract are considered as a Purchasing document only. They are differentiated only by the Purchase Document category. So it is better to have two different Document types as it will avoid confusions to the users also.
Other wise user may enter the Doc. type for search the PO numbers, But system will show both PO and Contract Documents.
But it does not mean that we can not have same document types in PO and Contract.Yes you can.Logically It should not give any problem.Instead of direct entry you press F4 and select the entries.Hope it should work.
