To make stock zero in previous period

Hi,

Currently there is no stock in the Storage location of a particular plant which is Batch managed.

But the previous stock of 3 exists.

In order to make the previous stock as zero, did MB1A+202 with current period.Now stock is updated

While doing MB1A+201 with previous period, I am getting an error as below

Deficit of BA Unrestr. prev. 3 PC : 96125841 GPK1 0001 0000373878

Message no. M7021

Diagnosis

Shortfall below the specified stock level or quantity amounting to 3 PC.

Even though the stock is available, but the batch is not available at the previous period.

Please guide how to make previous stock as zero at this juncture.

This problem usually exists when there is Goods issue done in current period. To rectify this issue, reverse the goods issue in the current period, then do good issue ONLY in previous period and this will get the quantity to 0 all around in current and previous period.

Thanks for the reply.

In fact , I was doing the same thing, i.e reversing the Goods Issue (Mvt type 202) in the current period & Goods Issue (201)in the Previous period .

The problem is while doing first entry system automatically creates a batch, which when we try to reverse we get the error message as "Deficit of BA Unrestr. prev. 3 PC : 96125841 GPK1 0001 111

Is there way to solve this?

Or should I have to wait for the next period so that Previous period will be zero automatically?

Automatic creation of batch should take place at time of GR, not while issuing or reversing the issue. Look up in batch management why its taking place.

AT time of GI, batch search strategy takes place, it just automatically picks the batch already created.
