SAP EWM : Outbound Staging !

Hello Experts,

Our outbound process consists of 3 steps for full pallets : Pick - Stage - Load. This is controlled by storage process assignment to WOCR and the internal process step assignment to storage process.

Do we have a standard SAP documentation for the above process ?

Confirmation of pick warehouse task is to staging bay in the above scenario.

So, "STAG" step in theory is not required in the storage process (or auto warehouse task creation for subsequent staging step can be deactivated in this case). But how to report the status of confirmed pick vs HUs staged in this case ? Do we have any provision to get the status without creating another dummy warehouse task and without using any laborious custom coding ?

Thanks in advance,

Magesh.

Hi,

wait: you pick full pallets and put several on them on a cart??? What type of "cart" are you using? Or what is a "full pallet" in your warehouse? Just wondering...

""Q1 : Do we have any provision in standard SAP to confirm all Pick warehouse tasks (Source bin to Resource) back to back and then confirm the transfer warehouse task (Resource to Destination) thereafter when we drop the full pallets to the staging area ?"

Well, how do you process these warehouse tasks? With RF? All warehouse tasks are in one warehouse order? Because then it should work as you require. You first confirm all pick steps onto the resource, then you confirm the drop step.

"Q2 : If we have a provision for Q1, then is it possible to confirm the transfer warehouse task based on "Handling Unit" as the cart will have a pile of HUs and confirming the warehouse task in system guided way will be laborious (Search the HU proposed by the system)? It will be beneficial if we have the option to scan the HU and then confirm the transfer warehouse task ?"

That question I do not understand. If you have handling units, of course you confirm the HU. Where do you have to search the HU?

Hello Juergen,

Thanks a lot for the reply !

Physical process is as below :

- Full pallet warehouse tasks are bundled into warehouse orders.

- We use a cart for picking.

- When a warehouse task is confirmed, ship label gets printed and the stock is transferred to the cart and label is pasted.

- Above step is repeated until all picks are completed.

- The cart is moved to the staging bay and all picked full pallets are transferred to the staging area.

Q1 : Do we have any provision in standard SAP to confirm all Pick warehouse tasks (Source bin to Resource) back to back and then confirm the transfer warehouse task (Resource to Destination) thereafter when we drop the full pallets to the staging area ?

Q2 : If we have a provision for Q1, then is it possible to confirm the transfer warehouse task based on "Handling Unit" as the cart will have a pile of HUs and confirming the warehouse task in system guided way will be laborious (Search the HU proposed by the system)? It will be beneficial if we have the option to scan the HU and then confirm the transfer warehouse task ?

The requirement could be very specific. It would be really helpful if you can brief on how this process is setup in SAP standard.

Thanks in advance,

Magesh

Hi,

ok, who set this up for you?

If picking is directly going into the staging area, then of course a STAG step does not make any sense respectively would probably show the source bin as destination bin? In that case it should be removed from the storage process.

To have pick and stage as process steps together makes only sense if you have a step like packing in between, because this step usually does not involve a physical warehouse task.
