Material BOM vs Equipment BOM

Hi All,

In a perspective of implementing a "Cannibalization" process for produced and selled equipments, I would like to know if is it possible to transfer the production BOM of my finished good (the customer equipment) to the structure or equipment BOM of my serial number/equipment produced.

The idea is, by transfer this to the equipment, I can now manage the components of the equipment and then, when the equipment is to replace I can take the components, uninstall from the quipament and then install in another equipament.

By the way, if this process I have mentioned makes no sense, I would like to ask the best way of handle this kind of process.
