Upgrade from SPS18 to SPS23

Hi guys !

Sorry if my question is inapproriate. I'm having problems to upgrade SP Stacks on SolMan. I'm not the one who has implemented solution manager.

So I need to upgrade SOLMAN from SPS18 to SPS23. If I understand well, I have to use the MOPZ (Tx solution_manager > Operation > Change Management > Maintenance Optimizer > Create New Maintenance Transaction)

The thing is that SolMan system do not appear in the list in step 1 (Plain Maintenance). What do I have to do in order for solman to be available in that list ? Unless using MOPZ is only for the satellite systems ?

Thanks.

Regards,

I guess my question were inapropriate

I wasn't looking in the right "solution overview".

I noticed that by looking into tx code solman_directory.

Thanks for your answer.

I already checked most of the guides on the url you provided. Unfortunately, there is no reference at all regarding my issues.

On the "Support Package Stack Guide SPS21", it is only explained how to upgrade a satellite system using MOPZ. But how to upgrade SOLMAN itself ?

Regarding the configuration of Maintenance Optimizer through SPRO, all the guides don't mention the right path in order to configure, at least I couldn't find it (I can't find this : SAP Solution Manager u21D2 Advanced configuration u21D2 Basic settings u21D2 SAP Solution Manager system u21D2 Change Management u21D2 Set-Up Maintenance Optimizer)

Hi,

If you have configured MOPZ properly, then check out for SMSY data for your sol man system. Once that is fixed properly from version & components point of view, you can check data in MOPZ.

Once you can see that, then you can upgrade sol man system through SPAM & JSPM. Do check proper documentation for EHP1 upgrade, as it is little tedious process, but very easy to do it, if you follow correct process.

Thanks

ANand.

Hi,

If I understand well what you are saying, to upgrade a SP Stack on SOLMAN, I need to use SPAM, right ?

So, the way to do the upgrade would be to go on http://service.sap.com/support

==> Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group"

==> SAP Technology Components"

==> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER"

==> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP 1"

==> Link to SP Stack Application

Select Target SPS23 and Source SPS18, download all components file and then load it one by one through SPAM ?

Thank you.

Yes, you can download in that manner too. But nowdays, SAP says all the things to be downloaded through MOPZ. SO please check out why your are not getting through MOPZ?

Also you can now proceed with this and start applying the patches through SPAM. Make sure you have got all the proper .SAR files, including the version changed *.SAR from 7.00 to 7.01.

Hello Kennes,

You might want to start here :

> https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_SHORTKEY=002007974700000659...

And have a look at the upgrade guides.

Then regarding Maintenance Optimizer you will want to look at the documents located here:

> http://service.sap.com/mopz

Hope this information is helpful.
