Dunning - Electronic Copies

Does anyone know if it is possible to automate Dunning so that instead of printing out dunning letters PDF's can be produced and e-mailed to customers?

In particular we have modified our process so that we print out copy invoices and wondered if we could somehow attach these to e-mails instead?
