Hi, our db is moving to a new server (windows 2000 to win 2003). I previously installed C.E 9 with no probs and configured the Report Application Server (RAS) so users could view reports using ePortfolio.

I have installed Crysatl reports 9 and C.E 9 on the new server with no probs, however the RAS service will not start, i get this error:

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion

I was wondering if there are any compatibilty issues with windows server 2003 as C.E 9 is (very) old

Do i need to upgrade?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorted it! For future reference...

Open the System Properties, then go to Advanced -> (Performance) Settings -> Data Execution Prevention and than choose Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select: and also select Report Application Server. If it isnt listed first add querysrv.exe .

just got a reply from our db vendor who says he has installed C.E.9 on a win 2003 server with no probs so it cant be a compatibilty issue!

again any help would be greatly appreciated.
