Hi
I am doing an Idoc to a file scenario. I created DT, MT and MI under namespace and also imported Idoc to another namespace. Now is there any condition like the Idoc should always be imported to the same namespace in which I have created DT, MT etc
I mean during Message Mapping, can I take the source message , in this case Idoc from a different namespace and the target message from another namespace.
Is it possible to do that way ?
Regards
Yes you can do this..

Hi,
Idoc imports under Imported Objects of software component. Idoc never imports below namesapce.
Also if you have imported a idoc under a software component then you can only use that in any namesapce in that software component but you can not use that in namespace of another software component.

This is in contradiction with what other experts have said.
The Idoc in my case is imported to a SWCV, and I have created DT, MT etc under different SWCV. There are two SWCVs. So you mean to say that I cannot use this Idoc and Message Types I created in one mapping.
I wanted to confirm this before I start on development server.

Incorrect. You can use imported Idoc of one SWC in message mapping present in other SWC too.
