Hi Thareq,

Before starting client copy make sure table structure is same in both the client(Which does not seems in your case), for standards it can be assured by using same support package level in source and target system.

For all customer development you need to take care for same table structure.

You can also use this link for getting help!!!

I ran the report "RSCLICHK" on the target client and below are the results. There are some table differences. How do i syncronnize the tables so that i can successfully complete the remote client copy? Do i make the table changes on the source system or the target system? I was also told that the table changes will take days to complete. What is the most efficient way to syncronize the tables?

Hi,

Since you are saying that it would take days to complete table changes, I would recommened you to do a system copy from your DEV to Sandbox. If you only want to do a remote client copy then you have make the tables to same level in both the system and also you have to take care that this should not have any impact on your development system. Whatever you want to do you have to do in target system and make sure that it is in same level with source.

Better go for a system copy as it is a sandbox only.

Sharath

Hi.

You can use SAP note 70290. This note tells you how to use report RSCCEXPT. With this report you can exclude tables from client copy.

Hi Thareq Yahya,

1. Try to transport the missing packages or tables using SE03->include objects in a transport request ( frst create transport of copies request and use the same for transporting ur packages or tables )

2. You can exclude the tables during client copy using scc9-> expert settings->tables

Hope this might be useful and update the status

Thank you for all the information. If i want to exclude a particular table during client copy using scc9-> expert settings->table -->

Do i select the table from the list and select delete row button and then click save? Is this the way to exclude the table?

martin_juen2

you have to enter the table names in the table tab and save (target system).

What if i do a client export and import instead of remote client copy (SCC9), will this possible resolve the issue i am having with

table structure changes? From my understanding the export and import creates a transport for all the client data. Please advise if this is a better solution to my issue or not?

Former Member

No client export/import won't solve the issue since client copies just contain data (table entries) but not data dictionary (tables) or in other words repository. Before doing client copy you need to ensure that all the tables for which datqa is being copied are exisitng in the target system and are have same structure as in the source.

I notcied from your log that a lot of Z tables are missing. Import those using transports first. Also make support pack stacks are the same in both the systems involved. Support packs can't take care of Z tables.

After that client copy can be performed. I don't agree with the approach of of doing client copy and excluding missing tables in this case the number of missng tables is huge and we are not doing exclusion out of choice but because of error in the system. I never do that unless I want to copy the excluded tables in dedicated processes or I am sure that those tables would have any impact ! Moreoever SAP tables at the end follow RDBMS rules and have foreign key relationships. So you would not like to countermand that !

Next you might lot of errors due to inconsistent data. So don't do this!

Follow a sensible apprach which is syncing up your repository and then doing the client copy.

Else if possible go for system copy.

Regards.

Ruchit.

Hi,

The primary rule before doing a remote client copy is that both the target and source system should be in same package level. Kindly check if your source and target systems have same support package levels including the all changes done in system also.

Sharath

The both systmes ECD (development) and the Sandbox (E6S) are at the same support pack level. What else could be causing this?
