Dear Forum,

What is transaction type? I read help but it is not clear enough.

What I know transaction type like 100 (external asset acquisition) or 200 (retirement without revenue), etc.

Can anyone tell me what is the use of this transaction type?

Thank you.

Hi,

In simple words, TType is as good as posting keys in GL.

When you use PK70, then it posts debit transaciton in GL, but the same line item involves an asset number aslo.

So the TType will have the activities to be performed for that particular asset.

Ex: If you choose TType 100, then a fixed asset will be capitalised. For TType 200, a fixed asset will be deactivated. and subsequently the values also will be distributed to the asset annual values part.

You need to understand atleast one asset's full life cycle to get knowledged about TTypes.

And also read the documentation available at each IMG activity, which is meant tor TType maintaince.

Thanks,

Srinu

Hi,

transaction types provide us with information on the activity or the transaction that took place for a particular asset. As you have mentioned types 100 , 200 and others like 147 , 105 ......n have different purposes. suppose you want to post a credit memo to an asset and would using type 100 which the system would not allow since 100 is been defiend only for external procurement....

hope its clear
