PM Order adding more components

Hello ALL

for example:-

(1) i created one PM order and created two MM in component tab so I get one Purchase request respectively item 01 and 02 .

Now the Purchase request has been released and POs are created and did good receipt too.

(2) now later can i go to IW32 add third component as 03 item and Now PR has 03 appended and released?

What is a good practice needs to be followed to create a 03 request?

are all request should put it one shot or PM order is flexible to make request at any time to add more request.

Hi Muthu,

as per your query, it is ment for the PM Order to be ammended as it is processed on the field.

i mean to say that it can be ammended and there is no problem regarding the generation of another P.Req. for the same maintenance order.

once it is released the pur chasing people wll convert it into order as per there process...

Hi Muthu,

Ans to your question is YES.PR line item keep on added.

Priority of Business requirement is first and then good practice of PM.

As said above there is nothing wrong if u keep on adding component, which will result in automatic addition of PR line item.

But PO needs to be created manually. So decission can be taken at that point of time.

Hi,

Your query is definitely a valid reason. We are more discussing on the SAP functionaity point of view. What you are saying is more on the process control point of view. Generally in most of the industries I have worked.

Maintenance order is generally release by the Maintenance Incharge approving the cost estimation of the Workorder which include all the cost component . Once it release the PR got generated for Non stock item which is a SAP funcitonaity.

In most of case the PR generally goes for approval from the Maintenance manager or incharge. Now you can see the maintenance in charge have the control even though if you keep on adding component and generating PR.

I feel this is flaw in the system if you does not maintaining a control in the PR approval.

On the other side adding component to the order to generate PR should be control by the concern person who has the authorization to do it. In short std way of practising is how you map the business process using the SAP functionaity.

There is nothing wrong or right in generating PR in provding non stock item in comonent tab. It depends on how you map the busines process.
